Exchange Programs Between B-CS and Greifswald ,Germany [2000-2008]

In July,2000 students from College Station and Bryan had an opportunity to spend two weeks in Greifswald, Germany, where the cool weather of the Baltic Sea coast formed a sharp contrast with the record high temperatures in Texas.

Adults from Greifswald visited College Station and Bryan in the early spring, 2000.

Another group of students visited Greifswald in June 2002 and in April 2003 the students from Greifswald visited B/CS.

A different group of Bryan/College Station students and their adult chaperones travelled to Greifswald in June, 2004. The Germans came for a visit in March, 2005.
A listing of their activities and their Texas travels follows:
· Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
· Galveston
· Bush Library and Museum
· A working cattle ranch
· San Antonio
· Creative activities with the Arts Council

Nine high school students and two sponsors from Greifswald, Germany, toured Brayton Fire Training Field and Disaster City this week as part of a 10-day visit to Texas. Tour guides included Laura Shehan, Ron Peddy and Jim Yeager of TEEX. The students were participating in a student exchange through the Bryan-College Station Sister Cities program. The German visitors hosted 10 local high school students and two sponsors who visited Greifswald in 2008.
